PIC Questions

If you have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 5 days, you are still considered to be positive for COVID-19 until you have completed the isolation period recommended by the CDC. If you request us to retest you while you are still in this isolation period, Physicians Immediate Care is obligated to include your previous test results in the medical recommendations we provide during your visit today.

If you have recovered from a COVID-19 infection but develop new symptoms, talk to your healthcare provider. While some providers may offer retesting for patients with symptoms, at Physicians Immediate Care we find a symptomatic approach to be most effective.

At your in-person or virtual appointment, your doctor will ask about your symptoms, take your medical history, and perform an exam if needed. Based on your symptoms, your doctor will assess your COVID-19 risk. At this time, they will also advise you on your next steps, including instructions for treatment and isolation if necessary.

An appointment for a COVID-19 exam and test is recommended, but we will also accept walk-ins.  For all other urgent care services  (i.e., injuries, illnesses, x-rays, physical exams, etc.) patients can reserve their time or walk-in at their convenience.

For a COVID-19 exam and test, please follow the below instructions:

  1. Reserve your time by visiting the clinic page, or you may walk-in at your convenience.
  2. Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time. Remain outside or in your car, until directed to by a staff member. Please text the clinic to let them know you have arrived. You can do this by replying to the confirmation text you received when you made your appointment.
  3. Bring your insurance card and a valid ID.

th Emergency (PHE) for COVID-19 ended on May 11, 2023, changing federal rules for testing, vaccinations, and treatment.  Most insurance companies will not cover the cost of COVID-19 tests for patients without symptoms (i.e., those patients who require a test for work, school, travel, or potential exposure without symptoms). Effective immediately, for patients without symptoms, the cost of all COVID-19 tests is $165 and must be paid by the patient at the time of service. For patients with symptoms, most insurance plans can be applied, and you will pay your typical copay or deductible amount.

COVID-19 rapid antigen testing is available with results in 15 minutes. A COVID PCR test is sent to the lab, and results are returned in 48 - 72 hours.

We will test those that need a test prior to travel.

We offer a Molecular PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) test for travel purposes. This is a Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT) with results in 48 - 72 hours. This type of test satisfies most travel requirements, please check with your specific airline carrier. For more information on COVID testing for travel, please check out our blog!
