Physicians Immediate Care is providing Curbside Care™ screening to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus in our communities.  The health of our patients, staff, and communities is our highest priority.  These unprecedented times also require clear and calm communications; therefore at Physicians Immediate Care, we have established a COVID-19 email box to answer your questions. Staff will be responding to inquiries from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday - Friday.

Before you send us your question, please review the most common FAQ's below:

COVID-19 tests can be administered to:

  • All patients with COVID-19 symptoms
  • All healthcare workers and first responders
  • Exposed patients deemed at risk by our providers (with or without symptoms)

Based on information from the CDC, we will not re-test a patient after a positive result.

All diagnostic tests, including COVID-19, has to be appropriate and ordered by a provider.  Our provider will review the patient's medical history to determine if testing is appropriate and which type to administer. 

An appointment is required for a COVID-19 exam and test. Times can be selected on the morning of testing days, and fill up very quickly.  Please check the testing location page for the days we are testing.  For all other urgent care services  (i.e., injuries, x-rays, physical exams, etc.) patients can reserve their time or walk-in at their convenience.

For a COVID-19 exam and test, please follow the below instructions:

  1. Reserve your time by visiting the clinic page or the COVID-19 testing location page.
  2. Please note that appointment slots become available on the morning of testing days and fill up quickly.
  3. Once you have received a time slot, you will receive a confirmation text message.
  4. Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time and stay in your car, unless otherwise noted in your text message. Remain in your car, do not park in a numbered spot until directed to by a staff member. Please text the clinic to let them know you have arrived. You can do this by replying to the confirmation text you received when you made your appointment.
  5. Bring your insurance card and a valid ID.

Please note: All diagnostic tests, including COVID-19, has to be appropriate and ordered by a provider. Therefore, while an appointment guarantees an evaluation, it does not guarantee a test. Our provider will review the patient’s medical history to determine if testing is appropriate and which type to administer. Please review our testing criteria on our COVID-19 information page

We will always try to bill your insurance first for the COVID-19 physical exam and the COVID-19 test. However, we recommend you contact your insurance carrier for exact pricing because it may vary depending on your plan.

If you decide to self-pay instead of insurance the pricing is below:

Required COVID-19 Physical Exam* – Care Level 1 ($165 Illinois – $140 Indiana)
COVID-19 Test – $75

* The exam is necessary so that our medical provider has a health history and a thorough understanding of the patient's symptoms and possible exposure. Oftentimes other illnesses can cause the symptoms that they are experiencing and with the shortage of tests, we want to make sure that we are properly testing people and following CDC guidelines. It is up to the discretion of the medical provider if the patient meets the CDC criteria for testing.

We offer the Abbott Labs ID NOW COVID-19 molecular PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) rapid test with results in under 15 minutes.

Currently, we are testing all patients with symptoms. If you do not have symptoms, but you are a healthcare worker, first responder, or you had direct exposure to a COVID-19 positive patient and are considered “at risk,” by one of our medical providers, you may also be tested. We may also test those that need a test prior to travel, but due to limited testing supplies, that is at the discretion of the medical provider at the time of the exam.
