How Long Does the Measles Vaccine Last?

The measles immunization is one component of the MMR vaccine, which stands for Measles/Mumps/Rubella.  This immunization is usually given at 12 months of age, and between the ages of 4 to 6 years.  Typically no further immunizations are required. Immunity is checked by a blood test. If the blood test does not show immunity, another immunization is recommended.

Physicians Immediate Care carries the MMR vaccine and can do blood testing to check for immunity status.  The measles vaccine is very effective in preventing measles.
