I am an Electronic Health Record (EHR) Coordinator. An EHR, for those who don’t know, is a digital version of a patient chart and health history. As an EHR Coordinator, I support our staff by doing a variety of things such as: instructing all new hire training classes; setting up new logins/passwords for new hires; troubleshooting with providers to solve issues they are having with our software; assisting clinical staff when they are having problems dispensing meds; resetting passwords; and unlocking charts for all staff. These are just some of the things I do.
I started as a receptionist in 2006, then shortly after was promoted to supervisor. As PIC opened more clinics, I supervised them in my region as well—in total, I was supervising seven clinics. In 2013, I applied for the EHR Coordinator position and was offered the job. I absolutely love it and the interaction with all the employees and departments. I love this position and hope to stay in it as long as possible.
I have seen firsthand that the staff has compassion, patience and truly care about the patients.
PIC is a wonderful company to work for. They usually promote from within—which is what happened to me. So it is good to know that you don’t necessarily have to stay in the same position you applied for.
Don't think twice about applying. You will be happy you made the choice! If you are offered a position and accept it, you will have a forever home with this company and can have opportunities for advancement, if that is what you are looking for.
