The program is heavily didactic, with a combination of clinical and web-based training.<br>&nbsp;<br>Our Mission, Goals and Strengths:</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
<li>Prepare PAs and FNPs for careers in urgent care health setting as competent, highly functional members in health care&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
<li>Provide PAs and FNPs with further education, specialized clinical and professional experience that distinguishes them from others</li>
</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Responsibilities:</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Work collaboratively with Urgent Care teams under the tutelage of experienced NP/PA’s to provide care for patients in our sites, this includes:</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
<li>Examining, diagnosing, and treating patients of all ages with acute illnesses and injuries or exacerbations of chronic disease</li>
</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
<li>Ordering evidence-based testing, prescribing medications and referring to outside specialists as required</li>
</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
<li>Providing occupational medicine services, including DOT exams and the treatment of Worker’s Compensation injuries</li>
</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
<li>Performing pre-participation physicals for camps, sports and employment</li>
</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
<li>Utilizing telemedicine platform to evaluate and treat patients off-site in addition to providing in person care</li>
</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
<li>Maintaining patient charts accurately and comprehensively</li>
</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
<li>Documenting patient information in Electronic Medical Record (EMR)</li>
</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Minimum Education and Experience:</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
<li>Completion of an AMA approved PA or FNP program, licensure in good standing, and certified as a Registered Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner</li>
</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
<li>Demonstrated clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence, and an active desire to learn</li>
</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
<li>Role may be unit, program, or service-based and involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives</li>
</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
