Supervising Physician

<p>Physicians Immediate Care, also known as Physicians Urgent Care, is a Midwest leader in urgent care and occupational health services with over 40 locations in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. </p>
<p>The Supervising Physician supports the Organization by providing accessible support including medical direction and clinical quality review for our Advanced Practice Providers (Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners) in their assigned clinics and/or float regions. Must be willing to travel to various clinics in a specified region. Physician will be required to work at least 2 clinical shifts per month and supervise the maximum number of Advanced Practice Providers allowed in given state(s). Physician may be asked to supervise APPs in all three states where our clinics are located- Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. </p>

<p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>This position is responsible for modeling both remarkable clinical care and outstanding patient experiences</li>
<li>Support the mission, values and initiatives of the Company</li>
<li>Actively encourage and support Providers through direct interaction including organizing as well telephonic and electronic support</li>
<li>Case consults</li>
<li>Investigate patient complaints and service deficiencies and provide positive solutions to what is being investigated</li>
<li>Support the high quality robust medical care model through</li>
<ol>
<li>Chart reviews</li>
<li>Case consults</li>
<li>X-ray over reads</li>
<li>EKG over reads</li>
</ol>
<li>Mentor and review Advanced Practice Providers</li>
<ol>
<li>Direct supervision of APP staff</li>
<li>Counsel and encourage providers to perform at Physicians Immediate Care’s standards</li>
<li>Chart reviews on new providers and providers under review</li>
<li>Receive, access and manage provider concerns</li>
<li>Maintain a 2 shifts per month availability to work clinical shifts</li>
<li>Being available by phone to answer calls 24/7 except when on PTO</li>
</ol>
<li>Provide expertise</li>
<ol>
<li>Assist the Senior Medical Director assessing new services and establishing medical standards</li>
<li>Assist in the development staff through regular feedback to staff</li>
</ol>

<p><strong>Education/Experience Requirements:</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>MD or DO degree with board certification (any provider hired prior to 1/1/2014 is considered grandfathered and is exempt from meeting the board certification requirements)</li>
<li>Active medical and DEA license with no restrictions for the region in which they practice</li>
<li>5+ years of clinical experience in ER or Urgent Care setting preferred</li>
<li>Strong occupational medicine background</li>
<li>Strong leadership skills</li>
<li>Previous management experience of providers highly preferred</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</strong></p>

<li>Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting (up to 25lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, pushing, pulling, climbing and walking</li>
