Physicians Immediate Care is celebrating our 30th anniversary! Dr. Koehler, on April 15th, 1987 opened the first Physicians Immediate Care clinic on Morsay Drive in Rockford, Illinois. Dr. Koehler and his subsequent partners, Dr. Buzzard and Dr. Stern, were pioneers in recognizing the need for not only immediate care services but occupational health services.
For 30 years, we have provided affordable, convenient medical care to millions of patients – now at 43 locations in Illinois and Indiana. We are dedicated to building healthy communities by providing remarkable care you can count on, when and where you need it. Our clinics offer convenient daytime, evening, and weekend hours for patients to fit into their schedule – often when their doctor’s office is closed. Our clinics offer a quick visit and at a fraction of the costs of a hospital emergency room. We also offer our patients the ability to avoid the line by reserving their appointment time online with Urgent Care Pass.
By 2012, Physicians Immediate Care had grown to 20 clinics with growth into Chicago-land and also in Grand Island, Nebraska. Since 2012, we have more than doubled our clinic count and added our Indiana clinics starting in 2013. In 2014, we began to launch our partnerships with key health systems including Presence Health System, Saint Joseph Health Systems, and KSB Hospital. In 2016, we had another milestone with our acquisition of Immediate MD, now a part of the Physicians Immediate Care family.
From that first clinic in 1987, we have grown to be the largest urgent care provider in the Midwest, serving annually more than 500,000 patients. We could not have done this without the care and dedication of our hardworking staff. Some of whom have been with the company for the majority of the 30 years and some have just joined. No matter their tenure, we want to recognize all of our team members in the celebration of the long and successful history and future of Physicians Immediate Care. Our success is driven by the trust and commitment that our patients and corporate partners have placed in our hands. We are grateful and look forward to continuing to serve all of our communities.
