Respirator Clearance Exams

Before using or being fit-tested for a respirator, OSHA requires that employees undergo a respirator clearance exam by a licensed healthcare provider. To determine whether an employee can safely use a respirator, a PIC medical provider will perform the following tests:

• Respirator clearance examination.
• OSHA respiratory health questionnaire
• Vision screening
• On-site PFT (spirometry)
