FAQs
Q. What is the Veterans Urgent Care Benefit?
A. The Veteran Urgent Care Benefit allows network urgent care/walk-in clinics to provide healthcare to Veterans without prior authorization for the treatment of NON-Emergent illnesses or injuries that need immediate attention.
Q. How does the process work?
A. 1. Visit an urgent care clinic that is in-network with the VA. 2. Tell the clinic that you are a veteran. 3. Receive medical care, and be prescribed medication, if necessary. 4. Physicians Immediate Care will bill the VA (Third Party Administrator).
Q. Who is eligible for the urgent care benefit?
A. Veterans must be enrolled in the VA health care system and have received care through the VA from either a VA or community provider within the past 24 months. To check your eligibility, please contact your local VA medical facility. No prior authorization is needed to visit one of Physicians Immediate Care’s 40+ locations since we are in the VA’s contracted network.
